Hazelmere Café an Bakery is situated in the delightful Victorian seaside town of Grange-Over-Sands on the English Lakes South Penninsula.
The grade 2 listed building is fronted by a glass canopy and overlooks peaceful ornamental gardens populated by a collection of rare water fowl.
Grange's 1 mile long promenade is only a 200 yard stroll away from the Hazelmere and offers stunning views across the flat sands of Morecambe Bay. Hampsfell rises to the North of the town, affording breathtaking views to the Isle of Man on a clear day for those who take a rest at the appropriately named Hospice. The Hazelmere Café was built in 1897 and has always traded as a café and "refreshment rooms". The present owners, Ian and Dorothy Stubley, bought the café in 1984 and then the adjoining shop in 1987 into which they extended the bakery side of the business. Over the years the business has grown and its reputation for good food and drink has spread far and wide. The emphasis at the Hazelmere is on locally sourced, seasonal food with everything being made on the premises to local or original Hazelmere recipes. This attention to detail, enthusiasm for excellent food and drink and the dedication of a hard working team has been rewarded by numerous awards and accolades.
